It’s brutal out there–
take a clue for the kooky kids,
a guide for the wild life,
open up a minds to a mysteries sky;
do you feel the eyes of how they perceive you
molding your skin to the mask
of your hide,
do you like how you hide under that hide
no, I
wrote-d a book-ed
about the fish-ed under the mask water
willfully winging ’round the trees of coral,
squirrel
squoral down that thought train and puff it in the cheeks,
can’t you let the demon go,
the deep sea jelly,
the monster in the murk grove;
can’t you let the angel go
drown in the skeever
can’t you ask the beaver
to chopple up the coral blocks
and chew on the flishy mask
we’ve been wearing for years without washin,
squo-ral g-orl, it’s brutal out there
all those sun burns,
all those hot eyes and poky eyes,
sometimes you wanna drown ’em all out
don’t you, angel,
don’t you, keeper of the trees
and the reasonable hours a’fore midnight,
you know you wanna ask it
even though you don’t crack it past your teeth–
does e’ryone wear a mask
or is it just you-dle
flappin’ like a fwish noodle?
Is it just the you
in river
where the demons go
and the roots of murk woods
and myrtle groves
glurk and haumt your afterights,
is it just you
doing cpr with flop-hands on seas that can’t breathe
so they go chokin and laffin instead,
don’t you wanna know, demon girl,
where the circle ends
where they mstryt your mystery street
all impatient to morgle and glump eat
don’t you get sick of bakin’ sense
and falling supwards in your dreams
no, I,
wrote-d a book-ed
about how to hide-d
and the secret is
you become a fish who talks with real teeth
but never vreally breathes like the trees does
and you keep em guessing for glory,
meeting the million mystery question in the face
but missin the mean meat clear down deep at the bones of it–
we are parched from all this talkin (sup)
and gill it’s brutal out here for the kooky guides
reading between the lines
of our masks
liftin’ on off of the oak seeds like an acorn does.
