Quiet Hands/Screw ABA Therapy

Quiet hands don’t tap the desk

quiet hands don’t flap

quiet hands cause no problems

quiet hands hide in your lap

quiet mouths say “fine,” “I’m sorry,” “my bad”

quiet mouths swallow back the sensory overload

quiet mouths burn bridges with screaming minds

quiet hearts cower under thrown stones

but quiet hearts find courage

quiet hearts poke up like seedlings

quiet roots grow

and rip up sidewalk stones

screaming minds find new routes around

whispering tongues

quiet hands tap words

quiet hands dance

quiet hands uncover and discover

those quiet hearts

blooming beneath the city’s curse

these quiet hands

write the cure.
