crash landing to a skyscraper.

An impromptu rooftop nest,

for gasping out her last breaths.

A falling star

sputtering,

feathers of flame dwindling

down to ash,

cold,

what a bold

way to die

beneath the lightning spire

patient for a second spark of fire.
