The sequel to Graveyard of Lullabies is almost here! A few more days, and the ebook will be available to purchase at most online bookstores.
The story is like if TJ Klune’s book The Bones Beneath My Skin met autistic necromancer. Or if Tamsyn Muir’s Locked Tomb series took place in a tundra instead of a futuristic universe.
This story feels really important this pride month, since the main characters are a transgender woman and her trans-masc bff.
Queer rights still have a long way to go in this world, and the past couple years have been scary with, let’s say, a “moral panic” happening over the existence of trans people.
I hope stories like Graveyard of Lullabies and After Forever Falls Apart show that trans people are just trying to live our lives.
Trans people have existed all throughout history, in all cultures. Sure, Graveyard takes place in a fictional world, but the themes about colonialism, identity and found family grew out of real life.
To be frank, After Forever Falls Apart is a sad book. Sometimes an angry one, too. But I hope you, dear readers, also find in it a lot of hope.
