through the air

***

happiness follows you through the air

and sometimes strangers say

you find what you’re looking for

by not looking;

things just

fall into place

when you least expect them–

but I think I’ve only known

the work.

The labor

to learn

to move

to teach

to train

to try again

and get it right

and move on

and create.

No, so,

what I mean is,

it never worked this way before but

I found the strings

where I least expected–

and screw what I said about cycles,

these things are

basic as one two three.

Forget reincarnation

and living another life like the last,

forget empires rising and falling

and peoples breathing and dying,

forget all that.

Graveyard of Lullabies will be available for free, now until January 1st on Smashwords!

(If this feels like a steal, you can always “pay” by leaving a review on Goodreads…or any other site. I’d appreciate that❤️) (but I’m not trying to guilt-trip you…don’t do it out of guilt, that’s bad)
