pick it up
from the grocery store
then take it
to a shelter for the sad,
heat it in the microwave
or a big pot
and scoop it out with ladles
wielded by sweaty hands in latex gloves?
What do you do
when they come back for seconds, or thirds,
because they’re hungry for more?
