Retrospective (Landscape of a Heart)

So…Landscape of a Heart is finished! Chapter 30 was the last one.

If you’d like to catch up on the story, you can find the table of contents at this link.

Otherwise, what’d you think? Did you have a favorite poem? Favorite character? Any theories? Tell me in the comments:) (Ps, here’s a friendly reminder about the commenting policy.)

I started posting Landscape of a Heart nearly a year ago, and it’s a little weird to think it took that long, actually.

It’s only 30,000 words (pretty short, in terms of novels. Though admittedly, I don’t know the typical length of a novel in verse, much less a fantasy verse novel), so I thought posting it would be a brief little venture into sharing a regularly-updated story, rather than independent poems.

Turns out, it was not very brief. And I may have enjoyed Witch Kook’s adventures enough that I made a spin-off verse novel in the same world, featuring a different character.

very subtle hint about the new protagonist

But, I’m not sure what avenue is best to share that story through. Do you think this blog is the place for another novel in verse, or is this a better platform for standalone poems and posts like this one?

I may end up doing both at some point in the future, I’m just still working out what’s immediately next for this blog, so feedback is appreciated!

Anyway, I hope y’all have a lovely day, and as always (wow, that sounds vaguely like a Youtube video outro), go check out my published book Graveyard of Lullabies–it’s on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Google…pretty much wherever you find books online.
